Today I added 2 male platies from my 64L to my 30L. They're swimming about happily and seemed to have settled in, and Chai didn't seem to have taken any notice of them. Until just now, that is!
I was watching him when the larger, spotted platy swam up to him. They stopped in front of each other, and then Chai flared at him. He then chased the platy (well, I say chase, I mean swam slowly behind him for about 5 seconds), stopped flaring and went back to exploring.
I've never seen Chai flare at anything before. Is it something I should be worried about? He also has finrot right now, so is flaring a good sign that he's on the mend, or is it a bad sign?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you!

Falring is normal Betta behaviour and healthy for them. He just needs to get used to the Platys.

I did think it would be healthy for him, then I thought no, that's making a bubble nest, then I thought well if he has enough energy to flare then he must be on the mend. I think I'm going mad!
