...Incindentally, i never got my Hikari sample. ~sniffle~ Some jerk probably stole it from the mail as usual. :/
Hi luxum :)

I'm sorry you didn't get your Hikari free sample. But I have some good news.

I was going to repost the link for the free samples, but when I got to their website I found they were no longer offering them to the general public. Soooo.......I got on the telephone and talked to one of their representatives. When I asked him about it, he told me they were overrun with emails in response to it and that many of them were the same people asking over and over.

So, here's what you and any of our USA members who haven't yet received them can do. Go to their website and send them an email requesting some. Here's the link:

http://www.hikariusa.com/

Please mention Tropicalfishforums.net and tell them Inchworm told you to contact them. Let them know what kind of fish you keep. Be sure to include your name and address. And also, please let me know if they arrived and how you liked them. :D

BTW, I received my sample when the offer was going on and my corys totally loved their Sinking Wafers. Even small fry swarmed all over them trying to get their share. It was a great thing to see. Now I've been encouraging my lfs to expand their line Hikari fish foods to include them.

Yeah my cory cats LOVE the Hikari Sinking Wafers too! Thanks for all the good info Ichworm! :D Hikari does make some of the best fish foods I have used. Great stuff indeed.

I use tetra min tropical flakes, and wardley tropical flakes ( mainly cuz i didnt have to buy them my dad did :D ) I also use some other freeze dried n frozen foods. I was wandering if any1 knew if TetraColor really helped bring out the color of ur fish. Is there any real good brands of food that will also bring out the colors to ur fish.

The only brand foods I'll use and trust all the time, would probably be TetraMin and Hikari. But if the food I'm looking for doesn't fall under one of those two brands, then I'll just pick another brand that sounds similar. :p

my guppies and platties get the tetra tropical crisps, hikari fancy guppy, bio-blend tropical herbivore and thera-a spectrum pellets. i like the crisps as they dont cloud the water and make a mess like most flakes do.

goldfish get hikari gf flakes, goldfish bio-blend, tropical herbivore bio-bled occasionally and thera-a spectrum pellets.

cave tetras get thera-a- spectrum pellets and tetra natures delica bloodworm gel and frozen bloodworms (the only things i have that sink)

ottos get algae (they are in my plant qt tank) :D and the occasional algae wafer when there isnt any algae to munch

flounders get tetras nature delica bloodworm gel and thera-a spectrum pellets

bettas get everything. they are spoiled rotten
hikari bio-gold, bio-blend, azoo betta pellets, hikari bloodworms (frozen and freeze dried), fd san francisco bay plankton, fd azoo tubifex worms, tetra natures delica bloodworm gel, tetra-pro crisps, thera-a spectrum pellets, hikari fd daphnia

everybody really gets a mix of everything though :) especially bloodworms and plankton.
these fish definately dont suffer from a non-varied diet :D
if you cant tell, i really love hikari. i really like the spectrum food too. it is thhe anti-parasitic forumla but conatins no medicine and all of the fish readily take it. it sinks too so it is a good food for everyone.
only the best for my fishies! :D

I use OSI for 3 of my tanks cause they wont touch anything else but for my 125g
I use OSI too - their color enhancing flakes with carotene, marigold meal and spirulina. I get it at my lfs, don't know if I've seen it at PetSmart...

For non-flake food, I also have cichlid pellets, Wardley's shrimp pellets, dried brine shrimp, Spirulina, dried tubifex worms and dried bloodworms. Oh, and frozen brine shrimp.
