one of my male bettas doesn't seem to take any flake food that i put in? when i feed bloodworm every 3-4 days he cant get enough? any ideas why?

I had one before and it loved the flake.

Is the pellet a special betta food or just a normal floating pellet?

bettas WILL NOT eat flakes, buy a pellet food

my bettas eat flake...and pellet..and frozen..and live...and veggies...
sometimes they are very fussy eaters, especially if you havent had them for long (and they are not USED to eating flake)...you have to be patient and just keep offering and eventually they get the idea...i recently got a new boy and he wouldnt eat ANYTHING other than bloodworms for three weeks!!! (and was driving me bonkers)...but i just kept offering everyday and eventually he began eating flakes...and then pellets...and now his good-for-him peas...
it just takes some commitment and patience.
cheers!

All of ours are fed on Attisons Betta Pro pellets.

Mine get a mixture of fine crushed flake and Tetraprima mini granules in terms of dry food. Which they eat quite happily.

All of my Bettas ate flake so you must have had a fussy one Truck!
I also used to feed them pellets, veg and frozen food such as bloodworm, daphnia and mysis.

Mine love betta pellets, also the fine tropical pellets, and they will eat flake, and bloodworm and peas and anything really. I have found in the past when you first get them they will only eat flake as that is what the pet shops give them :good:

mine eat anything that gets dropped in the tank. my bettas even seem to think human fingers are fair game.

haha, when i dip my finger in, as soon as he spots it he flares up and darts at it, he will get about an inch away then just swerve and swiw past, then he seems to ignore it til u move again lol
