I`ve just started cycling my tank and i`m looking forward to stocking it but as its my first tank i`m wanting to stock up on water treatments, and fishy medication,

And simply wanting to know whats best to use?

Always wise to have a whitespot med in, anti fungus and finrot med, and anti internal bacteria med by interpet, plus some aquarium tonic salt.

cool,

what`s the best water conditioner on the market?

Or atleast the most economical?

The following is my opinion based on personal use and on experiance working in a lfs

must haves
Melafix (good anti bacterial and natural, can be used with othermeds)
FMG (very strong anti parasite)
Acriflavin (very stronr anti bacterial)
Cuprazin ( copper based med for velvet and resistant ich)

optionals
pimafix
protozin
sterazin
myxazin

the- wolf where can you buy acriflavin in the uk??? or is it an ingredient in a brand medication??

acriflavin is made by NTlabs any lfs that sells NTs' products should be able to get it for you. beware it is not cheap, around £11 for 250ml, but well worth the money

Hi BigIan :)

Wardley makes a good and inexpensive water conditioner and so does Aquarium Pharmaceuticals. There is no need to spend the extra money for a product with aloe or other additives. Just be certain that you get one that removes both chlorine and chloramine. :D
