Halidesmus thomaseni Thomasen`s Snakelet.
Taenioides cirrhatu Blood-red Dragon Goby

and pictures would be good, i can find naff all on them!

Ha! you've been visiting Tom Halvorsen's site!
Some very unusual fish on there and great prices too!

The Taenioides genus of eel or worm gobies are wide ranging from australia right up to africa and the far east.
They exclusively live in esturies and are closely related to the good old Violet goby, but have some serious attitude.

Some species are blind and all of them burrow. Most of them are smaller than Violet gobies.
They also have beards!

Tom's site has the Red Eel Goby's name spelt incorrectly, it should be t. cirratus -also known as t. limicola and as the bearded worm goby/bearded eel goby

Here's a picture:

Snakelets are a group of mainly marine fish closely related to blennies and dottybacks, they are also sometimes commonly known as Wolf eels, though this should not be confused with the Atlantic Wolf fish which is also sometimes called a wolf eel. They are generally small fish rarely exceeding 5 inches in length, Halidesmus thomaseni reaches around 4.5 inches. All are predatory preying on small fish and inverts which they ambush from their cave dwellings, any tankmates should be at least the same size as the snakelet or they will probably be eaten.

I was tempted by this fish myself but didnt fancy the shipping charges.

what kind of strength brackish do they both need?

I'm guessing the snakelet is quiet strong brackish going by related to marine species?

if I can find a couple other bits on there i like them i might go ahead with 1.

I was considering 1 of the snakeheads aswell...the cheapest one there began with P.

If you like snakeheads im selling my breeding pair of Channa gachua dwarf snakeheads, they'll need a species tank of at least 30 inches long but if you fancy them drop me a PM and i'll give you a price, they'ed have to be picked up from here too.

As for the SG needed for the snakelet and goby i really wouldnt know, though i would suspect that the snakelet would probably need to be at the higher end of the scale and could possibly even need full marine conditions when mature.

are there any pictures of the snakelets any where, the only 1 i found was tiny on fish base. I'll get in touch with Tom H. though, he hasn't replied to my e-mail yet from beginning of the week.

PM sent CFC!!

just realised the newest PFK mag has a article on the goby but doesn't mention about it's brackish strength.
