Hopfully will be coming to the end of my fishless cycle,i`ve got a 70 gal hexagonal tank roughly 29 x 29 in wide, 27in deep, once it is fully cycled would you do a large water change and keep dosing with ammonia to keep bacteria levels up as i might not be able to start stocking tank right away. Once i buy fish thinking of maybe 2 bristle nose plecs and 6 bronze corys or peppered ones would this be enough to keep the levels up as i haven`t decided what else to get yet,(if you`ve got any ideas please add) btw the bn`s are small at the moment-thanks

If you dont put fish in straight away when you get to the end of your cycle just keep adding 2-3 drops of ammonia per 10 gals everyday, just dont forget that your NitrAtes are still going to rise so remember that you still have to do a 20%-30% water change every week even though you dont have fish in the tank.

Yes, the 2 bristle nose plecs and 6 corys will keep the levels up so you dont have to worry about that. Just dont forget to do partial water changes every week and add dechlorinater to the water when doing them.

Hope this helps :).

I would keep adding ammonia until within 24 hours of your shopping trip, then do your massive water change. Don't see much point in smaller water changes with a fishless cycle- you need to do something fairly drastic at the end anyway, due to the high nitrates levels.
