I have read her book from cover to cover BigIan. I find much of what she says enlightening and have a few tanks running more or less along the principles that she advocates. I have this tank that I planted right after reading the book. It is overpopulated by most standards and the fish only get about 3 water changes a year. The filter in it is just a sponge with a power head and I clean it every time I have the water level down for a water change. There are never artificial fertilizers applied and no CO2 added. It runs with 2 1/2 WPG of lighting for a long photo-period, but not as long as Diana seems to favor, and has not seen much algae after the first 6 months. I regularly sell fish out of that unheated, overfed and underfertilized tank just to hold down the population explosion.
