As the title.

Is the .net suffix of the website address deliberate because of the relevance to the hobby (ie. net), or is it a coincidence?

Does anyone know?

Jeez, I must be bored.......................

:lol: its a coincidence BTT, every website needs a .something, either .net, .com, .co.uk etc.

Hi BTT,

The suffixes at the end of web addresses all indicate what category of site it is.

.net is an administrative site / network .
.com is a commercial site
.co.uk is a uk based commercial site
.org is an organisation

And theres ones for sites based in different countries.

theres a full list here;

webdomains

Yes, but when purchasing a domain you can choose your .something (if it's available).
Some of my sites are .com and some are .co.uk
I think BTT was asking if the person who purchased the domain chose a .net rather than a .com or whatever for a little amusement/word play because it's kinda fish related or if it just happened to be a co-incidence.

And yep, BTT you must be bored LMAO

i would bet its relevant to the site subject. .TV is a small Pacific island, but the domain is use by many Tv broadcasters. all you need to do is pay. if the domains name is not used, already, you can register all you want.
