Hi All

After having some input from a helpful forumite I am creting this to track the progress of my first planted tank. There won't be much build up im afraid as the tank is currently in use (see below) and it will be transformed this coming Monday after I'ved moved house.
Now for some specifics :) The tank is the Fish box 60 by interpet measuring 60x32x37 holding roughly 64 litres or 14 uk gallons, for my first venture into planted im going with a low tech set up with a 60 / 40 split between planted and gravel. Plants will be every starters favourite...crypts :) im going with balansae for the back ground wendtii 'Mi Oya' for the mid ground and parva for the front. I was thinking of going with the whole triangle set up.
and now for some pictures of the current set up :)

First thing to do is get rid of the internal filter :good:

It beats me why they even make them anymore ???

Looking forward to seeing this one develop too. I agree with Percy. The internal should be an item you consider upgrading. Most planted folks run an external of some type. More powerful and it doesn't get in the way of all the lovely plants we like having. :)

Ill ask around in the hardware section see what they recommend :) for right now though it'll have to stay

Just a quick post to say that due to my cories being ill I will be putting the rescape back a week or two, fortunately I have another slightly larger tank that I can play around with some scapes before I do it for real :)

Ok second tank with plants and substrate sorted and set up, water is a bit cloudy.
Was surprised at the number of plants each pot actually contained. Anyone know how far apart they all need to be planted? I've used a lot of the tank but when its all set up in the actual tank they won't be that spread out

Update with more pics, note the new bit of wood I found, should work better for the whole triangle effect I hope. working on an external with help of the hardware guys.

Sorry, I know this is an old one, but I wondered whether you had any updates for us?
