As for neons, Tokis, I'm sure they're really deep thinkers. They probably ask themselves meaningful questions like,

'How did I get over here?'

'What are these little thingies flapping at my sides?'

and

'How did I get over here?'

I'm pretty sure my otocinclus are trying to eat their way through the glass. They have beady little eyes that give away their malevolent intentions. They are much smarter than we give them credit for. I think I saw one wink at me once.

Either that, or they just like the sucking on the glass.

My purple spotted gudgeon-Mo-only thinks about food, he also thinks that if he stares at me head to head that he will get more food

Sunny my severum uses the same technique as Mo, but Sunny goes about it calmly, until he sees the food container, and at that point he looses it, and my sev and geo join in the hungry dance

My peacock gudgeons seem to think that they are bigger than me and rule their tank, even though they are still less than 2" long

My dwarf puffers seem to be very intelligent, well, curious that is They are always examining me, not trying to get fed. They want to know what I am and what I'm doing, they come up to the front of the glass, but if I try to get closer, they back up until I back up They're plotting something sinister, I know it

Clown knives when I put a big rock in to lift the filter: "here comes a big thing to crush us turn sideways might miss..." good thing I was paying attention. "you can throw us all the pellets you want we're eating feeders."

The jack dempsey has convinced itself it's every bit as big as those two.

The community fish just want food...

The bichirs do seem interested in what I'm doing but don't get exited until they see me thawing bloodworms. Then they guard small piles of worms. They ignore the oscar but sure move out of the way for the gobies (marbled and violet are equally frightening).

The koi and goldfish are totally convinced I must have food for them. They come up and chew on my hand before they get fed but once they realise no food they ignore me lol.
