Fish With Characters To Add

Hi All,

I am looking to add another fish to my aquarium which has a bit of character. I currently have a shoal of penguin fish and cherry barbs (though they hardly shoal) and then my characters: 1 x red tail shark, 2 x angelfish, 1 x bulldog pleco, and 1 x honey gourami.

I would like to have another fish in there which has some character, or even a pair. I though about some gourami's but used to have pearl's and not so fond of them anymore. What would anyone recommend?

My tank is a 200 litre

What about some south american cichlids like apistos or rams? For the bottom I also love my loaches. They are very active and you could have a group of them in that size tank. I have striatas and yoyos.

From I was looking into Chaetostoma plecs, I believe they need reasonable current and high oxygen saturation, with accompanying cooler temperature...

Which then puts it in conflict with your Angels and Gouramis, at the very least.

Do Gouramis not like very much flow?

I suspected as much looking at mine.

I think Platys have great character btw but I don't think you'll be interested in them judging by your other fish lol.

Peacock Eels (Macrognathus siamensis). Quirky and concidered part of the community aquarium. The only fish they can't be kept with are the small ones such as small tetras. I nearly bought one today, but i refrained

I also love my loaches. They are very active and you could have a group of them in that size tank.

I second this. Burmese Border Loaches, I have. Great little characters, no trouble at all!
