Fish Symptoms:
I was guessing 'gill flukes' but the gills aren't where its red, its the aread around its eye. The bloat is not too bad yet, but some scales (one or two) are slightly raised at the belly. Mouth is dislocated. Breathing heavily. No thrashing, itching.Actually attempted to eat some peas though, but appetite might be restricted because of mouth :/

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):N/a, hes actaully livnig alone

Exposure to chemicals:Not that I know of.

The tank is 20 gallons. Had him for several years. I believe it was after we bought new fish from a low-quality pet store when the 'disease' was brought. Those 'cheap' fish died after a few days, and then another recently died a month or two ago. This one was fine until a week ago. First came the dislocated jaw, then today it was the belly flip and I noticed the red(blood?) around the eyes. Poor fish! :(

How re are the eyes? Are they protruding?
Any reddening of the gills or around the vent?

Can you post a photo? That would help.

What kind of fish is it, OP?

How often and how big are your water changes?

How do maintain your filter?

The red blood around the eyes, Does it look like pools of blood.
Also are the fish eyes bulging out.
Do the eyes look cloudy.
Any red streaking on fins, or body.
Red patches on body.
Bleeding beneath the skin,

The jaw,
Need to know if it's an injury.

Can you post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
How many fish and which type.

Can you isolate the sick fish.

The cheap fish you bought. What symtoms did they show before death.
Did any of them look thin. Or have a bent spine.

Ah, the fish died that night :(
But just for future reference if anyone needs it,
there was no significant redening/bulging of the eyes. The gills were fine, manybe a litte more 'pink' then usual? But not red at all.
There was nothing else, no patches, streaks, or anything of the sort. Just red around the eye and swim bladder problems/dislocated jaw.
The tank is very fish-friendly, and there are no other fish, so I don't suspect an injury froma fight or entanglement.

The cheap fish were all bought looking really healthy. We chose them because the looked more lively. They would always just die off. One died a normal death, another 2 had swim bladder problems. So I changed the diet of the remaining fish to aviod bloating, changed the water gradually and etc. So the two remaining fish (the one which recently died, and the other cheap fish) were fine until now.

One fish,hes a mollie.

How old is the tank?

Sounds mmore like Dropsy if the fish was bloated, with a few raised scales.
Also popeye closely related to dropsy due to the build up of fluids.
Redness of the eyes could of been a sign of septicemia. Due to fluid build up.

Sorry for your loss. :rip:

The fish tank is about 4 years old.
I was thinking dropsy too, but its not really 'bloated' as in pregnant/ballon looking. I mean bloated as in a bad swim bladder.(Hence, the fish unable to swim upright?)
I would say there were about two 'raised' scales. But they werent raised high or anything, but not totally smooth like a usually see. a really small degree.
There was also no popeye. I am sure of that.

It might have been a mild form of septicemia, if thats even possible. (Since, there was only red by the eye, and I forgot to mention it was only really visible on one side.)

Thanks for everyone's help! :)
Little-Yellow will forever rest in peace. :'\

Sorry for you loss.

Keep an eye on your fish.
Maybe a couple of water changes.
Green veg in there diet. Stops fish getting constipated.
Avoid over feeding dried foods. Freeze dried foods.

Yeah, switched away from flakes a while ago. Those things cause a lot of bloat...
We stick with peas and veggies, but if we absolutely much go with anything dry, we typically will let it sit in water to let it sink down. :)

Thanks Everyone :p

Yeah, I know, they are washed, and we squeeze out the nice soft parts inside, and ground it up.
