Hey all!

Getting a new tank in a couple of weeks and from what I've read from you guys I'm trying to make sure I don't put too many fish in my tank.

It'll be a tropical tank with at least 2 plecs, 2 albino cory's and maybe a RTBS....love them! :D

It's going to be about a 50g tank.

How many more fish should I be going for?

Is there a set ratio? fish:gallon etc?

I do not know about any ratios. However, I know you have a whole lot of space.

Plecs can get big, maybe reconsider them, but for now if you buy them small, alot more room IMO

Careful with those plecs, even though its a 50g, if you get commons, they can and will grow to 18". Maybe worth getting some smaller plecs instead. Bristlenose are one type that don't get huge. Someone else could tell you some others!
As for the rest of the tank, it depends on what type of fish you like. I started with tiger barbs, and I love them. They are really active fast schoaling fish. I then got into Cichlids, and now have 3 tanks with various different types from small Sajicas (5") up to a large Severum (10"ish), and I find that Cichlids have great personalities, and even seem to recognise you. May be just me, but I think they just seem more intelligent than my other fish!! :D
Whatever you choose though, ave fun stocking it! :D

You ought to get a few more of the albino corys, tehy like to be in a school of six-ish. And like everyone said...make sure to get a small plec. :D bristlenoses are nice, they eat algae and stay about 4-6". :)
