i think angels with the hugely long fins should stop being bred, because of the fins are so long and it looks like its more a of a pain for them.
And painted glass fish obviously.

Now before anyone things i'm some sort of vegan hippy tree hugging nuttter i'm not
I am! And I'm proud of it. :)

And painted glass fish obviously.
Those types of fish aren't born with thier colors, they get them injected or dyed, so I don't know if that would count?

Injecting colours is even worse - Look at some Parrot fish they are injected with dye to make them more attractive to us (well not me).
That must be poisoning their system

Sorry about the tree hugging comment - no offence meant.

Well, dyeing is already being banned in some places. Hopefully in the near future it will be non-existent. One can only hope.
About the other ones... well, I won't start a fight here, but people are bound to be irresponsible. We could ban pacus, but some people love to have humongous (sp?) tanks and keep agressive predatory fish.
What I'm trying to say is, even if there are irresponsible people out there who buy these fish, there are also dedicated fishkeepers who are willing to put up with their shortcomings.

Plenty of people would like to see feeders banned, it's already been done in the UK I believe.... I'm just not one of them lol.

I definately don't believe that endangered fish should be banned. It might be the case that they are killed off in the natural habitats but because some good fishkeepers :D looked after some they can be bred and reintroduced back into the wild. In fact, I do believe that is the case with some other animals, turtles etc, they are farmed out to people who carefully look after them in case this were to happen. Why not protect our fish too? Our world needs to be preserved in whatever way we can.

The majority of fish exported from the wild are only so because people havn't managed to breed them successfully in captivity; a good example of this is Zebra plecs. Zebra plecs were only fairly recently bred in captivity and for years they were simply caught from the wild which also mean't that they were extremely expensive.
I don't think people should take fish from the wild if
a. they come from an already endangered habitat where they are an important part of the ecosystem, or
b. people shouldn't take fish out of the wild simply because they can't breed them in caprivity; they should try to breed them in captivity first before considering the wild option.

I wouldn't want anything banned, but maybe people should have a license for any fish with a potential size of 2' or over :) There are people who can house big fish, aggressive fish, or some fish that most people can't keep. I don't think it would be fair for the experts who want to house a species that gets banned :)

Lets get rid of pugs, and bulldogs, and those persians, since they all have such nasty breathing problems and such.
Yes! Lets. There's a ton of breeds I'd like to see whiped clear off the face of the planet so they wouldn't have to suffer through short, miserable, unhealthy lives. Anyone who breeds animals who can't act like... well... animals because of the way they've been altered is a cruel arse in my book, and clearly someone who cares more about looks and pedigrees than health and quality of life.

Hehe, sorry, your sarcasm was lost on me because I agreed with it. :p

And, ::expects to get jumped by betta people:: I would love to see bettas at the very least restricted, because I'm tired of watching them rot to death in cups in stores or die of hypothermia in some moron's vase. Maybe not straight up banned, but I'd love to see them pretty much banned from sale by anyone but private breeders. Pipe dream all the way, but let me wish. :D

As for other "bans," I'd like to see any type of dyed/painted fish off the market, as well as Chinese Algae Eaters because they are worthless, agressive little turds. Ok, maybe not banned, but stores should be required to post a warning on them that says "caution: this fish will grow up to be agressive and will eat the slime coats and eyes of your other fish." Actually, I'm not keen on a lot of saltwater fish either as it seems that very few casual buyers do it right.

Gee, maybe I'm leaning towards "I'd like to only see fish selling in the hands of responsible breeders."

Idealism at its finest.
