right as you are prob aware ( havent shut up about it lol) have just got new tank . the filter i will be putting on it has been running on a tank for 2 years will be going straight from that tank to mine. so as its a new tank with a mature filter would it be classed as a mature tank or not?

Depends on how big the filter is and how big the old tank was, but as long as the water PH doesnt differ too much you should be fine. Just dont add full stocking too quickly and keep a close eye on those readings. Ive done it with loads of tanks and never had a problem x

filter is an eheim pro2 model 2028 quite a big filter not sure what tank size its running on as im buying it from a member on this forum i will ask him . stocking will be done slowly anyway so that side wont be a problem . just want to know really if certain species like rams etc would be best avoided for a while

Dont stock it too slowly, you dont want the bactieria to starve to death. Make sure the media is kept wet and is out of moving water for minimum time possible.

it will be getting a red tailed black shark , pictus catfish and a pair of kribs all from old tank straight away . then was thinking add 2 0r 3 more a week later if stats hold up. filter will be out of tank for about 20 to 30 mins during change over

If you are worried about the filter being out of water too long, get a small bucket or a ziplock back and put it in there with some tank water! :D
