Fish Swimming Near Surface

Sorry I'm a little off topic here. Instead of extensions maybe you could try a computer surge protector. They have several outlets and could be labeled so as not to mix up which plug is which.

Ah!! Fantastic idea!!! Why didn't I think of that!! I've got one right in front of me!! Cool!

THANK YOU!!! I'll go out tuesday and get a pump (tuesday is the earliest I can)

Cool! Thanks
:good:

Also, thank you Wilder for your help again, you never fail me! Thanks :good:

Can I just recommend that you get a power head rather than an air pump. A powerhead will cause far greater surface agitation and thus increase oxygen levels and evaporative cooling.

That's pretty much it, yeah.

As for the electrics, it all depends on how much current and wattage those devices are pulling. Powerheads are generally low power, whereas heaters and lights will draw more (though rarely anything to massively worry about).

Well, there will be: 2 heaters, 4 filters, 2 tank lights, 1 powerhead, 1 air pump, my TV, my Video, my Playstation, my stero and my FreeView box all running on two extension leads from the same socket - surely this isn't safe!

If the extension leads are both 13 Amp rated, then there shouldn't be a major problem. That would give 26 Amps or 5,980W by my rough calculations.

You are more likely to find out it can't be done if the fuses/circuit breakers stop running.

Most filters run in the roder of 10-50 watts unless very large. Heaters may hit 300W but are not on constantly.

So long as the socket is on a ring you should be alright, though it is a long time since I did my elecronic principles studies (and therefore my advice should not be treated as accurate) so someone more up to date on the regs will be better situated to give a yay or no than I am.

Got my Powerball this morning - I brought an Ehiem. Put it in and wallop... what an airflow!! It's great! It's a little too strong even with the pump turned down to it's lowest setting!!

Try and make the flow hit the glass at the back of the tank that will stop the current being so strong.
