Fish Stocking In 200L

We have a 200L and this is what we have-

3 x Neon Tetra
4 x Rummy Tetra
3 x Colombian Tetra(+ 6 Babies that appeared this week!!!)
3 x Silver Shark
1 x Red Tailed Shark
1 x Bristlenose Plec
2 x Cory
1 x Clown Loach(one died after purchase)

I am unsure as to how many fish we can have in a 200L? The tank does not look full and if we were to get more does anyone have any ideas of more unsual/interesting fish?

I am thinking about getting more Clown Loaches but i'm unsure as i am not sure if my tank is big enough but i don't really want to leave him alone if he should be in a pair or group?

We had a lovely large Angel that died recently and it has left a large gap in the tank.

-Oh just wanted to add that i will not be adding any more fish for a good few weeks until our baby Colombians get a bit bigger as they may just end up as a light snack All our tank mates at present have left they alone so we are hopeful they will survive

Righty first of all I would up all of your tetras to at least 6 or 8 and I would rehome the silver sharks as they grow huge to at least 12 inches often upto 16 inches and are incredibly active people suggest a 6 foot minimum but personally I dont think even that can handle them and they would do better in a 8 foot cube or something like that. Also up your number of cories to 6-8 of the same species of your existing 2.

Then for other fish to add your a little limited with bigger fish as most will eat your smaller tetras not sure what to suggest at the moment but maybe something like golden panchax or spotted headstanders?

3 x Colombian Tetra if the fry make it then youwill have a nice group but if not then i would up to 6
3 x Silver Shark remove as they will get too big and need to be in a bigger group, your tank isnt big enough im affraid
1 x Red Tailed Shark only 1 in a tank as they get very teritorial with similar and same species fish
1 x Bristlenose Plec this fish is fine, but they are notorious poo machines
2 x Cory up to at least 6 of the same species, you can mix and match but to get the best effect go for all the same
1 x Clown Loach remove as they get way too big and need to be in groups and your tank just isnt big enough...

dont forget that your fish will still be small and that they will probably at least double in size. so picture your tank with all the fish fully grown to adult size then imagine how much room you would have left.

a pair of angels might work but i would be slightly worried about the neons as these may well become a snack. ive kept the 2 together but it often avoided unless you got smaller angels and let them grow up together.
a small group of 4 silverdollars would look nice. but beware these will eat live plants and can grow to about 6 inch.
maybe one of the gourami species could fill a gap. some of these can get quite big and look very attractive when fully mature.
just a few ideas for you, very common fish suggested and nothing out of the norm but all very nice fish. it might help us a bit more if you could tell us the tank dimensions....

I totally agree about upping the numbers of exsisting fish.
We did have more Neons but over the last few years some have died and we have not replaced.
I was un aware that you would need that many cories? I was sold a pair and not told i could have more?
We had 2 Angel Fish but one died not long after we got him-the remaining Angel was dominant, he grew much bigger. He was a lovely large fish who we actually named Albert He was fine and we had him over 2yrs and he just suddenly died without looking ill or anything He was always fine with our Neons and they lived quite happily together.
We seem to have a very peaceful tank as we have never had any bigger fish eat any smaller fish
So as regards to Angels i think i would like to go for something different this time around?? Like maybe the Silver Dollars as suggested?
Any other suggestions??

The tank- I think is a ROMA 200-Fluvel? Not sure on exact measurements but it is a standard rectangular shape-will give you dimensions when i can find a tape measure!!!

Also i will be looking into what i can do about the Clown Loach and the Shark- although i do like these fish very much

the shark will be fine as long as you dont add any fish of the same or similar species like siamese algae eaters, flying foxes, false sae, or other sharks like rainbow, albino etc etc. they will claim their own part of the tank and patrol it but go nuts if they are confronted by another same or similar species fish.

Sorry i did mean to write 'sharks' as in the 3 Bala Sharks. I was not refurring to the Red Tailed Shark we will definatley be keeping hin-he is the main attraction in the tank

yeah i would get them rehomed asap really
have you thought about Boesemani Rainbowfish? these can get quite large and have a deep body giving the illusion that they are even bigger. they have beautifull orange/yellow rear halfs and blue/green/grey front end and look stunning in a decent sized group

Unfortunately the Silver Sharks (Bala) will get too big for the tank they get up to 16" long, also the Clown Loach at around 12" each and they like being in groups. The Red Tail should be OK though, they get to 5-6".

I'd take the Balas and Clowns back to the LFS and ask to exchange for 4 more of the same type of Corys you have already, as they like being in groups, also up the numbers of the Tetras to 6 each.

That will leave you with:
6 x Colombian Tetra
6 x Rummynose Tetra
6 x Neon Tetra
6 x Corys
1 x RTBS
1 X BN Plec

For what to add you have to be careful to not add anything that will eat the Neons as they are such small fish. You could get a pair of Bolivian Rams or a trio (2f, 1m) of Apistogrammas. These fish are mid-low dwellers. Or for something a bit bigger, you could try something like a pair of Cupid Cichlids or a pair of Laetacara curviceps (Dwarf Flag Cichlid).

Also the other suggestions you've had regarding the Silver Dollars and Boesemani Rainbows, I wouldn't add the latter unless your tank is at least 4ft long and the Dollars get big so couldn't stay in that tank forever.
