We usually call it flashing. They (not just cories, all fish) will do it when they have an itch. Not necessarily always on the substrate, it'll often be against objects. If it's an odd occurrence it's usually nothing to worry about, though if it keeps happening it may be worth testing your water, just in case.

Corys do that sometimes for now reason but on another hand it could be an irritant in the water or parasites.
I'd first just keep an eye on them, do a 50% water change in case it's something in the water annoying them. Don't overdose on dechlorinator as my corys go flicking with certain brand. Also, test your water to make sure ammonia and nitrItes are 0.

Just a few times is ok, but if it does it constantly it could be ick since fish rumb on objects when they have ick.
