i bought a fish r fun 90l set up. It's been running about 2 weeks (unfortunately i didnt join forum till i'd added platys- re cycling)
Anyways, it was fine but now the filter seems to die after every 20 hours or so. The 'clean' water output seems to drop to a couple of bubbles instead of a constant stream. Please help.
Dont know if i've explained well enough

Two quick thoughts, which sound very patronising, they're not meant to!
Are you sure it's set up properly? I'm not familliar with that type of filter.
Also, it is the flow that's reducing, yes? Not that it's just cleared the air from the filter /pump mechanism and so you don't see as many bubbles because it's just water coming out?
Otherwise, I'd recommend contacting the place you bought it or the manufacturer, as it sounds like it's a duff one.

you say the filter "seems to die", can you feel any pressure if you put your hand in front of the outlet? though i too have no knowledge of this setup, i would not expect any bubbles to come out of my filter. with the exception of a short time, after it has just been switched on.

ok i see. so i assume that there is no water flow also. it takes a tank guite a while to cycle, this can be a messy time. try to clean the White polish filter, or change it. they get clogged very quickly. if this is no help. you mayb need to go back to the retailer.

in my old job we sold FRF tanks
I can't begin to tell you how many powerheads we returned to the supplier.
you need to go back to the shop and get a replacement

I have had 3 tanks with these filters, and eventually reaslised why my pumps gave up!!! All my tanks have had sand as substrate, and the syphon sits too close to the bottom and sucks the sand up which gets caught in the pump and stops it  . If you have sand, I suggest cutting the pipe shorter, so the outlet sits higher up, away from the substrate; this has sorted out my problems!
