Fish Problem

make sure you add a dechlorinator to the tap water before you pour it in the tank.
i have already put the water in the tank, whats dechlorinator does it get rid of chlorine
yes it gets rid of chlorine, add it now!!! do a double dose it wont, hurt, do it as quickly as possible or the fish will be poisoned by the chlorine
i dont have any dechlorinator, i might get some tomorrow i only added two jugs of tap water

yes track but it wont automatically mean they will die does it now
morty get some as soon as you can chlorine will damage the delicate gills they breath through and cause them stress leaving them more susceptible to infections if you cant get any try to leave the water you are replacing overnight but this is far from ideal but could help its an old method from the days before dechlor
regards scot :)

track your out of order speaking to ppl like that
morty get some dechlor as soon as possible chlorine wont always kill fish but it will damage the delicate gill membrans they breath through and will stress them leaving them more open to other infections

if you cant get any dechlor and need to change water try to stand the fresh water for at least 24 hours and maybe put an airstone init to help bubble the chlorine off this is a last resort and is a method i remember from years ago
good luck

this however wont get rid of chloramine, (most water authorities, add this now, so its probably not safe)

its truck by the way ;)

You don't need to let water stand overnight. Just BLAST the water into the bucket . This allows the chlorine to gas off. Then just stir and agitate the water for a few minutes before adding .

If the water change was small your fish should be ok this time around . Just make sure to get some dechlorinator as soon as possible and always use that in future.
