Fish Options!

Now now children! :p lol
Seriously though, thank you everyone for the suggestions so far!! :)
I wouldn't be relying on fish to get rid of the algae, just 1 or some to snack on some of it :)
I dunno if any of the places around here would even carry most of those plecos on that list. The Petsmart got in BNs once, and haven't seen them since.
Guess just something else for us to ask our LFS for :D hehe

my dwarf gourami munched lots of guppy and platy fry really kept numbers down even with all the hiding places i have in my tank
also when i had congo tetras they did the same and they are beautiful fish

get a group of hungry tinfoil barbs and your fry won't last the night haha

just about anything will eat fish fry...even shrimp

That's not totally true. Quite a few things will not eat fry. Some shrimp may try if they are quick enough some shrimp are also filter feeders and I *think* some shrimp are even fully herbivorous. I could be wrong on that one though  I'm not much of a invert guy...

I don't see how a 120 gal tank wouldn't be tall enough for angels--that's a pretty huge tank! You could keep keep a whole school of them--it'd be gorgeous! (And angels would absolutely love the platy fry!)

The 120gals that we've seen really haven't been that tall. I've never kept angels before but figured that they'd need something a bit taller than what we've seen.. of course I'm probably totally wrong about that though lol.

Is anyone familiar with rope fish? I know my hubby really liked them when we saw them at the LFS. But I've only looked up minimal info about them. Pretty much only thing that I've read is to get fish larger than their mouths unless you want them to become a snack :p

EDIT: NM.... reading about them now and don't seem to be really good community fish for various reasons.. at least not one that'd be good for the tank we'd like :)

Match and stang always argue.

Every time the post in the same thread they always start argueing.

So how about the upside catfish or some opaline gouramis?

Miah - A couple of disagreements hardly merits the "always arguing" comment!

Amunet - Angels prefer a tank with a minimum of 16" height so you may get away with them. Great centrepiecefish include:

Keyhole Cichlids
Dwarf Flag Acara Cichlids
Bolivian Rams
Apistogramma Cichlids
Peacock Gobies

Other ideas for fish include:
Rainbows
Honey Gouramies/Pearl Gouramies
Pentazona Barbs
Congo Tetras
Denison Barbs
Bleeding Heart Tetras

All fairly colourful and most of them should keep fry in check.

I think 4 or 5 Pictus Catfish look amazing with ample room to swim, which your tank will appear to have.
