Okay so I am new here and I am looking for some answers.... I have a 40 gallon tank that I've had established for about a year I have several different varieties of platies probably about 12 total I also have to Neon tetras to zebra danios... Water temperature is kept between 75 and 80.... About 8 months ago I was given quite a few plants from a friend and I ended up getting snails to help with the snail population I added a clown loach and a decent size goldfish to the tank... The last 2 which were added about 1 month ago.. About 1 week after I added the loach and goldfish I started noticingthe platies we're turning up dead all in all all of my platy

One of these new fish may have brought a disease. The goldfish is not a good idea in a tropical tank and the clown loaches should be in groups. Single ones will suffer, get stressed, die or if they survive they can turn aggressive and grow too big for your 40G tank.
I've head snails in all my tanks and it all depends on whether you are overfeeding the tank, cleaning maintenace, and adequate filtration to stop organics gathering around the tank on which the snails will feed. I can barely see them in my tanks besides in my fry tank where they are flourishing but it gets a lot of food.
Do the dead fish showed any signs of disease? White spots, stringy poop, anything you can think off?

Have you done a water test? Goldfish are messy little blighters at the best of times, and adding one of them, plus a clown loach, may have overloaded the filter.

Yes i test the water often....all readings are normal...the fish that died did not seem to have any other signs of sickness

Would you please provide the exact readings?

2 more dead this morning....20ppm nitrate 0 nitrite 300 hardiness 0 chlorine 150 alkalinity 7.2 ph

We can't guess if it's a disease or what disease just by the information that the fish are dying. Do they show any other unusual signs?
How are the clown loach and the goldfish? Any pictures or close up video of the diseased fish?

How do i upload pics....these fish dont seem to show any signs of sickness all the other fish 2tetras 2 zebra danios tge loach and the goldfish have so far not been affected by any of this
