Ammonia and Nitrite has been ZERO for the past couple of days -- wooohoooo

However, my nitrate, I would say is inbetween 0 and 5ppm (probably closer to 0) and doesn't seem to be rising. Why is this as I thought it should rise? I do have 5 small moss balls in my tank - could that be the reason as they like to munch on nitrates. I'm worried it means the tank hasn't cycled yet??

It will rise, but its a very slow process. If ammonia and nitrite is zero then yes, happy days.

Chances are the hobby test kit your using to test nirate is very inacurate. If using the API test kist hit the bottles of a hard surface and follow the instructions to the letter which include shaking like a looney for 3 min solid, you will find the nirates have gone up :good:

EDITED as i was half asleep :good:
