I got this fish for free, and I don't know what it is.
In know its a catfish.
It not a Pleco I know that too..

What is it?

It is a Synodontis but its not S.Nigriventis - the body shape is wrong and its lacking all the markings. The link Fizzy has given is to the whole Syno family which might help you ID them.
