Hmm well I don't want to make this painfully easy by telling you which one of those two it is. It is either cottus or Etheostoma however, so good job so far. But not either of the specific ones you mentioned.

would be interesting to know what limpok means in English.

I speak some Indonesian which is very similar to Malay, but the word 'limpok' does not exist. Couldn't it be 'limpah'? This word means overflow or inundate.

possibly, i'm just going by fishbase who say it is from the Malay word limpok

i think that is a stone loach where we come from found in rivers and streams under rocks NOT FOR FISH TANKS THOUGH dnt know the scientific name though

Nope this fish is native to north america, in fact it is so rare, that some people claim it to be extinct in the wild, although that is not true, as I have caught them myself in a net, about 4 years ago.

stizostedion vitreum glaucum or the stizostedion canadense the first many think is extinct and the latter is almost look the same and still can be seen

No no no, i was saying that some people think it's extinct. The Wildlife and Fisheries lists it as endangered.
