Fish For A 7 Gallon

it's heavily planted if that helps. i like the betta idea.
what could go with a betta?

If you add anything in with a Betta, introduce that first so your Betta doesn't get territorial. Pygmy Cories may work although they prefer well oxygenated water, whereas the Betta prefers a minimal flow.
If you want something a little different you could get away with a species tank and have two dwarf puffers, providing there are plenty of hiding places and the water is well oxygenated.

I wouldn't put small shrimp with a betta, mine bit the cherry shrimps I added in half! And didn't even bother to eat them.... lol. Apple snails or similar would be nice. A really stunning betta with big finnage and tail would be all you needed really though... especially in a well planeted tank!

ok, all i want is something that i will enjoy watching. i like the bettas colors but i would like something special if you know what i meen

i like the galaxy rasboras...
could i keep a betta with a few?
if not, what else?

Remember, like most blokes, all Betta's have very different attitudes. Mine for instance had been in his tank alone for about 6 months before adding 4 then 4 more Pygmy Cory.....with no problems. 3 months later I added 2 Armano Shrimp and again no problem to date.

After a year they are all alive and well.......yours may be very different. There are rules of thumb about all things fishy but sometimes it can work 'outside the box' you just have to be sensible and observe closely.
