I have a 10g tank and am planning to put some brackish water fish in it. I was wondering what brackish fish would fit in this size of tank. I was planning on putting a puffer and a flounder in it but i think the tank would be to small :X Thank you in advance :D

All flounders and puffers (with the exception of figure 8's) will grow to large for a ten gallon tank. Sorry!

For a ten gallon tank some possibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Figure 8 Puffer
  • Small Shoal of Glassfish
  • 4-7 Bumbe Bee Gobies
  • Pair of Knight Gobies (A breeding male/female pair to avoid territorial issues)
  • Amano Shrimp
  • Platy's
  • Guppies
Obviously all these fish cant all go in together as you would be far overstocked in such a small tank. All those fish listed above should do fine in a ten gallon tank, but the Figure 8 would appreciate more room.

k thanks for the information i think i'll try the bumble bee gobies :D Do u know what size tank i would need to put a puffer and a flounder in though :/

The tank size depends on what species of flounder and puffer you are talking about. Be aware that many brackish and freshwater flounders need to be moved to marine conditions later on in life, and your puffer may not tolerate these conditons depending on the species.

Thanks again :D I think ill stick with the gobies for now :p
