I recently upgraded to a larger aquarium and I want to reset up my old 10 gallon aquarium anyone have any ideas of fish I should put in it?

I want 2 mollies

what else should I add? I wanted Ghost catfish but it says they must be kept in schools of 5 or more. I would like to add a type of catfish if anyone knows of one that will fit in the aquarium. I have 3 Cory Doras in my other aquarium so I would prefer it not be Cory's if possible. But open to all suggestions. Thanks!

I found here that just keeping 2 ghost catfish is ok. Is this true?

The two mollies sound fine to be in the 10 gallon tank. Yes, so many times, I've read about catfish and it says they need to be in groups of AT LEAST 3. People have kept one, in a communtity tank. They said it was fine, and the fish got along with other fish. I would keep one with the two mollies. Maybe you can even have two Ghost Catfish. But, if you have two, then you couldn't have anymore fish except the two catfish and the pair of mollies. Your mollies and catfish SHOULD get along well. If you change your mind, check out this link.

I hope this opens for you. :)

Yeah i would not add anymore than 2 mollies and 2 ghost catfish. I just do not want the catfish to be sad if I add only 2.

I think two would be fine, especially if they were all living in a 10 gallon. At least you only have two mollies in there besides them. :)

Thank you! As of now that is what I am going to do. Does anyone else have any opinions though? Neither fish is mandatory.

Bumble bee gobies are brackish water. The mollies in the link are sail fin mollies. They get 4 inches. 2 regular mollies could go in a 10 gallon. As for ghost cats, I wouldn't. If you want them, do 6 of them and no mollies. Or you could do 4 regular mollies and a few Pygmy cories. Sorry to disappoint you :(

There's a thread on fish for a 10 gall in the beginners resource centre http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/116208-recommendations-for-a-10-gallon/

To be honest, I wouldn't keep mollies in a 10 gallon tank. They are quite big fish. I know petsmart says they only get to 3 inches max in that link, but they do get bigger than that.

Are you sure on that? I do not want to add anything that will be unhappy eventually.

6 could not go in a 10 gallon correct? If not I guess they have to wait until I get another larger aquarium

Theres also some debate on what size glass cats grow too. I've seen anything up to 15cm quoted as their fully grown size. Personally I've never seen that but I've seen them easily reach 10cm. And in my opinion 10cm is far too big for any shoaling fish in a 10gal tank.
Generally speaking if you're thinking about shoaling fish for a 10gal tank you want to be aiming for the 3-4cm size range.

Ok ghost catfish are out. Thank you!
Any other suggestions? I am thinking possibly 2 Honey Gouramies and what else do you think could fit without issue?

I'm a fan of honey gouramis for 10gal tanks. With them being pretty peaceful on average a m/f pair are pretty entertaining to watch and 'fill out' the tank quite well.
I'd mix them with perhaps some ottos, or a small group of shoaling fish like most rasboras or the smaller tetras.

I'm also a big fan of shrimp in small tanks. They provide something interesting to watch without putting much of a strain on the bioload. Nerite snails are pretty cool too :)
