Hiya, I wonder if anyone can help me find a name for something I saw in shop...

As stated above, they look sort of like a worm/watersnake.
The ones I saw were thinner than a pencil, about 3 or 4 inches long and were kind of patchy in pattern and cream and brown in colour, I think. They were round at each end from what I could see. They stayed at the bottom of the tank. They were groups of them.

I'm not sure how else to describe them but I hope this is enough.

Please help!
Thanks
Lis

i used to keep them years ago, they look great in the bare tanks at most LFS but once you got them home they will hide and you never see them, I've only ever had one that came out some times. But they are very nice looking.

if ya want a similar looking loach thats bigger and braver try a weather loach :)

Yes, the weather loaches are quite sweet.
It's a shame the other lil fellas hide because they are sooo cute! I have a tank that is about 1 foot wide, 1 and half deep and 2 foot long so lots of room to hide so I really wouldn't see them often...what a shame :(

i have 4 in my 20gal and they only come out when i put the moonlight on

Aww that makes them even cuter! Lol
I may invest in some moonlight then :)....I'm running out of plug space, hehe.

I'd suggest not investing in a splitter as they have a tendency to go wrong, however if you invest in a UPS (uninterupptable power supply) which keeps the filter on when there is a power cut, they are made from much better and more reliable materials but beware the less you pay for them the worst they are and vice - versa.

Is there anything that makes them less likely to burrow? Like, if I had sand or pebbles as opposed to 'normal gravel'? And still put plants in for them to hide in.

Do they come out to eat?
Or eat stuff whilst burrowed?
