Helps suggesting a med.

I had to go to my daughters this weekend and didn't get back on the forum.I got Lifeguard when I was there. It says active ingredients are 1-chloro-2,2,5,5- tetramethyl-4-imidazolidinone
I treated tank tonight and took my media and carbon out and plants because I wasn't sure if it would hurt the plants or bacteria in the filter. It is supposed to be an all in one treatment for externaldiseases, bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic. I also got fish food that gets rid of parasites but didn't give it to them with the medicine. I am in the US.Hope I didn't screw up to bad on my own! LOL Thanks for the help. Sonia

You need a med that threats internal parasites, not external.
Does it say on the box which parasites it treats.

It only actually listed flukes. I gave them some of the food for internal parasites but they don't like it.Do you think when they get hungrier they will eat it.Also will my cories eat to much of it going to the floor? The active ingredient in the food is metronidazole 1% praziquantel 0.5% levamisole 0.4%, THe food says it's ok to give with other treatments.

Don't feed them for a day.
Then the next day try the worming food. Don't feed them before you add the medicated food.
