I'm in the same boat as you right now Menacer, and I seem to change my mind daily. What I've found is that each visit to a LFS gives me different ideas, and slowly but surely the ideas are forming. I suggest a few more visits yet as you'll see something new next time. Anyway, here's what I can add to that already said:
Corys are great in bigger groups, everyone says that, so for me some Panda Corys are a must, look them up.
Neon Tetras are fragile, but Cardinal Tetras look eaxactly the same to the untrained eye and are much hardier in new tanks, (but have much better colours if you manage to find both at the LFS).
Cherry Shrimp are an excellent adition so I'll also be buying some of those.
Look up Harlequin Rasbora. Small enough to get a shoal of them in your tank. Stunning in a group when I saw them at my LFS.
Those Gourmi are supposed to get a bit nippy if not at the right male/female ratio.
