Ok folks i took you advice, went to my LFS and have written down the fish and stuff that i like. Here is the list.

Assorted Molly
Black Molly
Corydoras Elegans
Redfin Sharks
Neon Tetra
Angel fish
Sucking Loach
X-ray Tetra
Red Crab
Flame Tetra
Apple Snail
Lamp Eye
Albino Tiger Barb

Whats your out look on this?

hi im guessing your not geting all of these?

Assorted Molly - Live bearer so will reproduce alot and could over run the tank
Black Molly - needs brackish water
Corydoras Elegans - corys are always good community fish, dhould be in groups of 4+
Redfin Sharks - to agressive and large for most comunity tanks
Neon Tetra - goo community fish but can be frigile, its advised to add them when the tank has benn set up for a few months, should be in groups of 6+ but more is better
Angel fish- nice cichlids but can be agressive and will eat smaller fish (i.e. neon tetras)
Sucking Loach - No far to agressive and large
X-ray Tetra- tetras can be nippy should be in groups of 6+
Red Crab - need brackish water and access to land
Flame Tetra - same as other ttras
Apple Snail - these are fine in most tanks
Lamp Eye - will only live for a year (not an expert on killi fish so not sure why  )
Albino Tiger Barb- these are very nippy fish and should be in groups of 10+ to spread there agression.

Hope this helps

No they wount kill them just if they have long fins they will be ripped and this can lead to infections so if you are only keeping robust fish they should be ok with them. What size is your tank?

They don't normally kill them outright, but they will harrass them constanty causing so much stress that the other fish gives up; or nip them so much that secondary infections set in and are the cause of death.

Having said that, tiger barbs aren't so bad if kept in a large enouigh group and there are no slow moving, long finned fish like angels, guppies or Siamese fighters.

48 litre, so could you tell me some combinations i could do. + amounts of each please (red crabs are out the window as i cant get them the land).

Hi 48L is quite small for some of the fish you want.
Angels need a tank 18 inches tall.
I would say Go for 6 neon tetras, 6 x-ray tetras, 6 corys and 3-4 apple snails. Is it posable to go to another LFS that has more options for you or buy off line?

Lloyd

Yes that would be possible

My tank is 16.9 inches tall

Hi i would look for some apistogramma or bolivian rams as centre piece fish, or eaven a gourami :D

What about shrimp? are they good to have? Also heard about tropical frogs aswell :D

good idea
Shrip would be good if only keeping small fish, cherry shrimp are easy to keep and only have a small bio load.
Not too sure about frogs but think they would be fine.

Cool thanks for your help mate, will update you if i go to another shop and have a look around ;)

Does anyone know any good online uk websites to order fish?

It's not a shop as such but I quite like tropicalfishfinder.co.uk For each fish species it lists some stockists that have the fish. Not all shops are on there but most Maidenhead aquatics are and it gave me a good idea of what was nearby. Also think there is at least one online store listing their fish on this site.
