Fish Catching Advice

I have a 2 inch Bulldog Plec in a medium planted 240 litre that needs re-homed, been trying since Monday to net him but he's just too fast and hides behind the plants, I'm starting to stress out the other tank members with the dreaded big blue net!! lol

Any ideas??

Try putting a length of pvc pipe in the tank with one end pressed up against the glass and the other end open to the tank. Knowing bristle noses and most other species of fish that like hiding in caves it wont take long for your pleco to discover the new hideyhole. Then it is a simple matter of putting your hand over one end of the tube or a net and lifting the tube out. To encourage him to take refuge in the pvc pipe firstly remove his current prefered hidehole. If possible I even put a net over such hidey holes and as I lift out the home my BN's often make a dash for it straight into the net. And before anyone says it... I only catch young BN's with a net the adults are all hand capture.

Another methot is either to use 2 nets (one to distract, one to catch the fleeing bulldog).

I had the same problem the other day when transferring my pitbull plec, I ended up pinnig him down gently with one net then letting him go to swim into the other ;p

yep, as above, try using two nets to corner the plec.
