Fish Behaving Strangely

Hi guys,

I just introduced some new fish today and tested the water. My ammonia and nitrItes were both zero, but I have 50 or over nitrAtes (it was hard to see the difference between shades on the colour chart so may have been higher).

The leaflet with the test kit suggested less than 50 and every other time I have ever tested they have been zero. I only added the fish a couple of hours before so I don't think it's that.

I also noticed a few fish rubbing themselves slightly on the grave although I have seen this before with no adverse outcome and they all seem ok apart from that.

Is this amount of nitrAtes harmful and if so, how do I lower it? I was just going to do a water change.

Not to bad, daily water changes, keep an eye on the flicking might off fetched a parasite into the tank.
