Fish at the top of the aquarium

I used to work in Borehamwood for a few years, in the Civic Office. How much water does the tank hold Peter, and how many fish would you say you have in there? Like others, I'm wondering about night time oxygen availability for fish. Appreciate you have airstone and filter. Have you noticed any heavy breathing from the fish first thing in the morning? Obviously swimming at the top and general goofing around is different to oxygen depletion.

It's a 20 gallon tank,haven't noticed fish heavy breathing first thing in the morning, i have A betta and 7 corys and 6 black tetras

Okay, was wondering it's highly stocked and there is an o2 drain at night. Stocking is obviously low

The colours of your api tests look off to me. What do they read in real life for nitrite and nitrate?
How much water are you changing each week?

Also is your betta showing territorial behaviour?

The betta is fine with the black neon tetras, the Nitrite was 0 and nitrates were 20, im doing a 30% water change every week using Seachem prime

Don’t you have neocardinia shrimp and ember tetras?

The Ember tetras were rehomed yesterday, yes I forgot the shrimp
