i have a red tailed black shark and an albino shark in the same tank, i have noticed that the red tail keeps bugging the albino-( playing or fighting i dont know) its no where near as bad now that its planted as the albino can hide (infact they all are) but i have read that a red tail shouldbt be kept in with anything similar- an albino is as similar as it gets, what can i do about this??

the guy that im hoping will take some of the fish is on hols and i caught his neighbour when i phoned and she didnt really want to tell me when they are back-fair enuff, it just means i have no idea how long they will be here, im not taking them to the lfs.

dont really want to, but i can put him in jambos tank if i have to for a while, if it will be better for him ( red tail) i wouldnt put the albino in there as jambo would give him grief then

Ohhh dear yep only one type of shark per tank.
whether it be black shark, albino, silver, hi fin, labeo, RTB shark.
they will kill each other if not separated.

it depends what kind but the albinos and red tailed i would say just 1 per tank. very teritorial

no not really, only as i dont have one or anything to make into one,ill get him out as soon as i see the little bugger

just wanted to add they were not my own choice of fish, they came with the tank, im just baby sitting for the time being :)

silver sharks are best kept in shoals,
makes them feel safer and less thretn'd

he says one "type", not one specimen. :good:

well thers not a lot i can do about that at the moment,( i appreciate your concern tho) im not being irriesponsable, but as i intend to rehome them i cant go getting more to keep them happy in the mean time, sorry
the silver sharks are the best behaved fish in the tank, they are not fighting with anyone, the red tail is still hiding the albino looks happier ( have been having ammonia, nitrite probs, just on my 4th wc)
but dont worry i still intend to remove the red tail from the tank once i see him,as the quality gets better with wc he may show his cute little face :)

ah fair enough,
my RTB shark has neve shown any interest in my silvers tho.

Its all about shape of fish and terretories.
even two albino sharks wil fight if not given a large enough space
