Yes, many do this. Its not at all uncommon. Can scare teh living daylights out of if you are not expecting it though. :lol: Usually after the lights have been turned on and they've started moving about, their normal coloration will return.
 
Thanks for your reply, it did scare me,lol. They have done this before, and like you said, once I turned the light on and they started moving around, their color was fine, also I have a cat almost identical to the one you have posted :D
 
Yes, some species do. I've found bettas do it a fair bit... scares the living daylights out of me. :p
 
yeah it happens to me, but i got quite a scare the first time it happened
 
My friends' betta is called Izzy, because when his colour fades, they think 'Is he (Izzy) dead?'
