Im a newbie to tropical fish but would love a well balanced visual tank which is 65 liters or 17 US gallons.

I was thinking 8 Endlers live bearers (male only) OR 6 spotted rasbora (middle tank I believe?)
3 Honey gourami's (top tank) do these jump out the water?

I would love suggestions for bottom dwellers and numbers. Also plant suggestions. Umm and I know Im asking a heap of questions but what would be the best foods to feed each species or is there a one feeds all type of food? Thanks for everyone's help and replies :)

corys, khuli loaches, amano shrimp for the bottom of the tank.

but you'd need to be careful you don't overstock.

never kept endlers but 6 rasbora should be OK in a tank that size, 3 Gourami's might be a bit big though. You could look at a small group of corydoras (such as peppered corys) as bottom dwellers,

Thanks for the quick replies! I definately dont want to overstock! If gourami's are too big any suggesstions for a different top dweller?

Gouramis are not too big. You've got 5 litres more than me and I have 2 Honeys (female). I also have 3 Platys and plan to get 6 Corys. Depending on the rest of your stocking you'd be ok with Honeys, Dwarfes or sparklers.

There's a fine line between cautious and OTT guys.

When I checked the advisor for info on my stocking it allowed me to have 5 Cardinal Tetra's, 4 Guppies, 1 Blue Ram, 1 Bolivian Ram and 1 Dwarf Gourami. If yours is gonna be overstocked with 3 Gourami's then maybe I need to check out another advisor.

Welcome to the forum Midnight.
Your suggested stocking should be fine. The honey gouramis are among the smallest gouramis and endlers are a very small bio-load. I would add in about 4 or more of the smaller cories to finish it out nicely.
As far as plants, if you have the typical very low light of a built in lighting system, you will need to stay with low light plants like java ferns, Cryptocorynes or Anubias. Many of these plants require their roots to not be fully buried in the substrate so they are tied to decorations in the tank instead. Some crypts also are subject to "crypt melt" which means that they lose all of their leaves when you first put them into a tank. Most of them will grow new leaves but it can be discouraging to a new fish keeper to see all the leaves fall off a new plant.

Thanks for the info and welcome OldMan47. I'll keep in mind that the cryptocorynes may lose their leaves! And thanks for helping me round out the tank :)
