7ml of cleen off ammonia added to 5ppm+
using api test kit
ammonia now at 2
ph low blue in colour (not on chart)
ph high 7.4?? (looks redder in colour)
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
temp is at 86

using tetratec ex1200 and the water is crystal clear
no lights as yet

tap test
straight from the tap

PH-7.6
ph high - 7.4

Your ammonia dropped from 5 to 2 in the first week with no measurable nitrite? Doesn't sound right, and on the calculator I think you should have added 9.22 ml of the ammonia you are using to get to 5 ppm. Add ammonia to get up to 5 ppm. Your temp and ph is good for now, make sure it doesn't drop any lower for the best results.

i know 5ml does not sound a lot of ammonia but i added 1ml at a time over 24hrs
www.theaquariumwiki.com/Kleen_Off This says that it is 10-35% ammonium hydroxide, there is no info on the bottle saying 10%
i'm pretty sure that i measured right but i understand your point thanks

aM i reading the chart right?
looking again it now looks 4ppm?i realize that the numbers are read from the bottom upwards

If it looks like 4ppm then it probably is. Remember that the volume you're calculating for is the amount of water in there, not the full capacity. Substrate and anything else in there will reduce it.

+1 :good:

I'd say you're around 4, looks good. I was going by this, assuming 9% concentration: http://www.africanaquatic.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=130

looks like we are getting movement
nitrite 0.50ppm
ammonia not quite at two

day 14 first 0 on ammonia
nitrites off the chart

textbook Nitrites "usually" start to show around day 7 :good: now drop your dosage to get it to 2-3ppm to give the Nitrite a breather..till you see the Nitrite hit 0..then bang it back up to 4-5ppm till you get double 0's

I would wait untill nitrite spikes before reducing the dose, IMO 0.50ppm nirite is not phase 2 just yet :good:
