First Water Test Using The Api Nitrite And Ammonia Test Kit

Ok so im doing a "fish-in" cycle fish have been in about a week - 2 tiger barb, ive been using the test strips utill now and all seemed fine, but they are very hard to read and be sure... so today i got a test kit with the drops... can anyone tell me if this is fine:

Ammonia: 0.50
Nitrite: 1.0

Do i need to water change or anything?

Yeah, any time ammonia or nitrIte is above 0 water change, about 50% or higher depending on the reading.

Thanks, i done a 50% change, so i test everyday, and if either read >0 i do a water change?

Yeah, to give you an idea of how much to change, if your ammonia is .050 and you do a 50% water change, your ammonia will be 0.25

Dont be afraid to do 75-90% if needed

To clarify, if it was 0.5, and you did a 50% water change, it would be 0.25.

You may be required to do more than 1 water change a day.

It is quite common to have to do 2 or 3 changes a day at 50% a time
