going to start my first marine tank next week so after a little information
i am using ro water do i need to add anything other than sea salt mix
it is going to be a nano reef at about 15 gallons
how much live rock should i get
would this tank be ok for a pygmy angel, royal gramma and a six line wrasse
what turn over do i need i bougt a pump that is 650lph is this sufficent
what inverts should i get
are there any begginer corals i should get first (my lfs has 2 really nice ones called a mushroom coral and a open brain coral)

thanks for all your help

salt mix and ro water is everything,

id say that tank would be too small for that combination of fish

corals depends on lighting?

as for flow. times 15 by 20 and aim for that. 20X turnover is the usual for soft coral reefs.

Welcome to the salty side :good:

Start a thread in the nano section so that we can all see your tank develop and help you out with any questions :good:

As Ben said ( I seem to be saying that a lot recently  ) not a great combination of fish for a tank that size

The lights are fine if you intend to keep softies and maybe a Euphylia.

Flow is best at 20 x

CUC ---- few hermits, various snails.

Anyway, lets get the tank up and running first before you worry about the cuc :good:

Don't buy live sand it's a con :good:

Have a really good read of all the threads and you will learn loads - ask as many questions as you like, we love watching tanks :good:

The soft corals (mushrooms, zoas, xenia, etc) should be fine under the right T5 lights. You will want somewhere between 7-9kg of liverock in there.

The pump you have gives you just under X10 water turn over per hour so ideally I would say you need another one thats the same.

Agree that the fish stocking list is probably not good for this size tank. You could probably be ok with the royal gramma (mine doesnt travel too far away from his hole).

thanks so much for all the suggestoins what fish would you suggest then to go with the royal gramma
