Hello everybody just wanted to post a few pictures of my first tank, had a few problems to begin with, lost a few fish and disease problems. But now all is fine and I'm pretty proud of it, and the fish in the aquarium. So here's a few pics of the aquarium and the fish! Hope you like it too, let me know what you think. :)

Its nice to see people venturing into real plants from the off :) Cute set-up. What livestock do you have in there?

Looks good. Are those freshwater clams you have in there? If so, how are they doing? Seeing them feed?

Thank you very much everybody :). Yes they are FW clams, I bought them without doing any research on them and heard alot of bad things. But mine seem to be doing well and I've seen them feed. Looks like a little white tongue hanging out lol.

As for live stock I have Cherry Barbs, A couple of Guppies, Neon Blue Dwarf Gouramis, 2 Blue Rams, 1 Golden Ram, Pleco 2 frogs and some Corydoras. I know it may seem a bit of a miss-matched tank but I'm happy with it and they all seem to be getting along fine. Let's just hope I haven't spoken too soon!

Thanks again for the positive replys, feels good that I'm not the only person to enjoy all the effort put into it.

I've never heard of Freshwater Clams. Were they expensive?

No they cost me around £7 for the 2 I think. I like them, I think they're a little quirky addition to the tank, even if they don't do much!

Is that an Interpet 64L i see? I have one :) Very pretty

Nice looking tank I really like the plant and wood on the left! I just grabbed your stock list from your profile just a few things I feel worth pointing out to you so your prepared and can react accordingly either now or if problems arise. First of all for a 64 liter tank its quite a heavy stock all in all. The guppies, frogs and cherry barbs are fine especially in those numbers. But there are a few issues with the other fish. Fist off the Plec you have Im guessing its a common one which will out grow the tank usually growing to between 12-14 inches and very chunky so really think about rehoming them soon because the larger they get the harder they are to rehome. The cories next, you need to keep them in groups of 6 for each species so that would be 6 spotted and/or 6 peppered - personally I would swap the lone peppered cory and get 4 more spotted cories :). Then the rams, in a 64 liter tank you may have issues with aggression between three in there. Also blue rams have quite specialist care though are still commonly sold, they are often short lived in community tanks because they need high temperatures and low ph they need these standards to help with digestion and also to help with their growth and a few other reasons. I would reccomend a pair of Bolivian Rams in place of these three as they are more community friendly. With the Gourami not a massive issue but worth pointing out that males are sometimes aggressive and if you have 1 male and 1 female it could prove a stressful situation for the female similarly if you have 2 males the sub male will end up stressed. And finally the Clams as you said they are usually not recommended because of the fact they are hard to feed and often starve and die and then pollute your tank without you realising so again just be careful of that.

So a few issues with the tank so I would try and address a few of the issues. A few ideas of how I would fix this tank would be

This is the list for a general community
2x Bolivian Rams
8x Cherry Barbs
6x Guppies
2x Frogs
6x Spotted Corydoras
3x Neon Dwarf Gourami - 1 Male 2 Female to help spread the males attention between them
2x Pitbull plec - small species of plec suitable for this size tank

This list is more catering for your rams
2x Blue Rams
1x Gold Ram - Im suggesting to keep in this as a trio for now to see how it works out but be prepared incase it goes wrong
6x Marbled Hatchet fish
15x Rummynose Tetras - little tetras that can stand the high temperatures that the rams need
8x Spotted Corydora - these cories are actually suited to a similar life as the Rams so would be good tank mates

Hope thats helped but it is a really nice looking tank :)
