Nope don't know go to plantgeek.net for basic plant info for further purchases. I believe you might want to take the airstone out though for the plants benefit.

Much better with the new wood, what plans have you got for plants? Think it needs some plants now :) Whats that lighting you've got?

I think, and I may be mistaken, but it looks like a non-aquatic plant to me. There's a plant in the US that goes by the name of purple waffle plant, Hemigraphis exotica, and your plant has the same leaf shape, but yours is less purple on the undersides of the leaves. I doubt your plant is a true aquatic. Sorry about that, LFS should really stop doing that. Take it out, put in a pot next to a good Eastern window and enjoy. They're great houseplants.

i agree

if you just keep it in it will just rot away sooner or later and make a mess

Ummm no not realy and the plant is sprouting buds so i think its could be aquatic

It is not an aquatic plant. I rechecked and it is purple waffle or crimson ivy, depending on your location. The species depending on which source I consult is Hemigraphis exotica or H. colorata. It is a very tough plant and can survive for up to a year submerged, but it is not an aquatic plant. I kept it before an accent plant, which it serves well as. But, they ultimately have to be removed and transferred to a terrestrial environment. It makes an excellent terrarium plant. I'm not saying you can't use it and it can be effective in an aquascape, but you need to know that it won't survive indefintiely in your aquarium.

llj :)
