Okay so today, i fed my fishies some mosquito Larvae i found in a barrel behind our house contatining rainwater. We use the water for watering plants ect. however lately the mosquito breeding began, so i netted some out, came in the house, and fed my Betta some and put some in my 10 gallon tank. i have 2 concerns. I kinda let to many fall into my Betta's tank and he overate, his stomach is rather large, how long should i wait before i feed him again? My second concern is, when i dropped the larvae in my 10 gallon, everyone except 1 of my male Spiketail Paradise fish. I havent seen him eat in a long time, is he okay? He doesnt move alot like the other one and he doesnt eat alot like the other one, should i be concerned?

I would not worry about the Betta, if you can separate him to stop him getting more food for a few days that would be sensible. He should be OK in a nursery tank or net in the main tank for a short period of time if you have one.

The male Spiketail Paradise fish that is not eating is a concern, that is often a sign that there is another problem. Do you have a hospital tank for him?

Agreed on the betta.
The spiketail, could be getting bullied or simply intimidated by the other male. I would separate them and see if his attitude doesn't change.

Well when the other one came into the tank, the one not eating was the dominant male and bullied the other one. I dont understand how it could have flipped?

You guys were right, my paradise fish was bullying the other, in order to fix this, when i return to the LFS should i buy another Paradise fish or a Dwarf Gourami so that there will be 3 and one isnt constantly being bullied? I cannot move the bullied one out, by other tank has my Male Betta in it and he will kill ANYTHING put into the tank.

I am going in about an hour to my LFS, should i pickup another Paradise fish or a Dwarf Gourami?

I went to my LFS and purchased another Spiketail Paradise fish, they had 2 left. It has helped a bit. The new Paradise fish is doing fine. The bully one isnt really getting anywhere because my new Paradise fish wont let the bully bully him. I feel like the reason the one is so mean is because he has only 1 good eye, so he feels like he is at a disadvantage, you guys think that might be it?

I got some good news and an update, when i cut on my light this morning, the bullied paradise fish that wasnt eating ect. Was no longer hiding in the Amazon sword leaves at the top of the tank, he was at the bottom of the tank swimming with the other 2 Paradise fish! They are all 3 getting along now. :good:
