Hi,

Thanks everyone that will post.

Anyway i was at petland yesterday and they told me that they were getting kribs on jan 4th again.:)

I was talking to the lady and she said that theyre getting albinos and normals.

Which kind should i get???

I would personally get the normals because I think they have way brighter colors, especially during breeding!

ok thanks.

The lady at the petstore said when the normals came in they would be about 3".
Would they be able to breed then?

And would it be hard to find a male and a female in the LFS tank?????

Yup, 3 inches in long enough to breed. The only thing is though, the smaller the female means the smaller the batch of fry she will lay. My batches of Krib fry have been going up from the first to the second now, all because the female is getting larger.

Your LFS should have about a 50 50 mix of male to females available.

ok thanks again ..

is it easy to tell the difference of male and female?

Its ok if they have only a few fry at the start though.
cause i need to get rid of some of my angels lol.
or elsethey wont have any room to grow.

Kribs, IMO, are arguably the easiest to sex!

Yes, it would be fine if they have fry to start with. But be aware, if the male and female pair up, meaning the form a breeding pair and will most likely breed for life, they become fairly aggressive to bottom-dwellers.

Here is a picture of my female and male.

The male has a very pointed dorsal fin as it tappers off and ends, while the female's dorsal fin is rounded at the end.

The female is in the front and the male is behind her.

Here is the male and female again, and you can get a better picture of the female, she is on the left.

I agree Kribs are probably one of the easiest to tell between the sexes.

The females IMO is alot more colourful than the male where as the male has a pretty dull colouring through its body the females as shown above wont always have a purple gravid spot on their belly as this is only at its largest/brightest when they are breeding.

Its also a good way to identify when they are ready to breed as the females gravid spot will be very large and obvious.

They are the easiest to breed that I have ever owned. I have had 2 successfull breedings and raised both sets of fry to selling quality. No problems. Can go wrong with a Krib.
