First Guppy Fry

Alright, so I bought three guppies and put them in my 5G hospital tank (The fish I buy from the store always have to seem something wrong with them so I put them straight into the hospital for a few weeks before I introduce them to my main tank)
The guppies are the only fish in my hospital tank and the one of the females is (At this very moment) having her fry.

It occured to me that I`ve never had fry live before, but I`d like to try and save these fry, rather than let mummy and daddy eat the,. So should I put the babies in a breeder trap? The tank is only 5 g but the parents aren't through their 3 week isolation yet.

Also, when may I be able to tell genders and colors?

The fry should go in their own tank, as they need to be feed baby brine shrimp or at least ground flake food. You could try to accomplish that in your 5g but I'd think it would be difficult.

How long before the adults go in the main tank?

About 5 days or so. Could I put the babies in a breeder trap for that long?

I'd prefer to keep my rule of a full 3 weeks sooo at least now that she's had her babies I dont have to wait for that

The fry will be fine in a breeder trap for a few days.
