I have cycled the tank now ammonia and nitite being processed back to 0 in the recommended time, cleaned the tank out and changed the water added ammonia again just to make sure all is still well and filter is functioning after a clean.

I have a 64ltr tank and would now like to start stocking it. We have seen some Guppies we like, zebras and neon tetras but I have read somewhere on here that the neons nip the guppies, is that true?

I would also like a couple of corydoras and a shrimp.

Does this sound like a good mix to give me a happy collection.

Thanks for any replies.

hi, i've never had a problem with neons nipping any other fish, i would add that corys are very social & like to be in groups of 4 or more. They are great little critters though, personally i'd forget about the zebra's & get 4 or 5 corys along with the guppies/neons.

Hi, don't go for the Neons straight away. They need a mature tank.....one that has been running for atleast 6 months.

Guppies will be fine.

Danios need a larger tank as they are VERY active and require more swimming space.

Neons and cardinal tetras require mature tanks of 6 months and older otherwise they tend to drop like flies. If you are wanting a shoaling fish that will be fine straight away, look at harlequins or rasboras

Yup, harlequins, one of the few fish I think of as an even better first introduction than a zebra danio! And they don't need as big a tank either.
