First Fish Tank . Believe My Southern Platyfish is pregnant

I have had him/her since July 2021 and no babies yet but I’ve recently started noticing how big she’s getting . Should I start looking out for babies ? I don’t even know if it’s a girl or boy .

It's girl. Look at the anal fin, that's the one on the underside of the fish right in front of the tail. In a female it's the usual fan shape but in a male it's rod shaped and called a gonopodium. Fry all look female until the males reach puberty when the anal fin changes to a gonopodium.

She does look pregnant but not yet about to give birth.
