First Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was peering into my tank as usual last night, and spotted my first platy baby! Have checked again this morning (just in case my third glass of wine had made my eyes go funny), and it's still there, hooray!

It's a gorgous little spotty fry Can't see any others in there yet, have probably been eaten or sucked up the filter

I'm very pleased tho, because of my boyfriends rubbish DIY skills (which are admitedly better than mine!) there's a gap between the between the aquarium background and the tank, so there's a really good hiding place for tiny fish!

Unfortunately I've only got the one tank, but I'm off to the lfs now to buy a trap to put him in so he'll be safe.

Hi I too have my first baby platty in my tank. It’s been about a week now since we first seen him and he has grown quickly he is much darker in colour now. He’s great though and I keep checking he's still there every five minutes!!!
Does anybody know how many fry platties have at one time?

They can have LOTS. Personally, I have had my platies had upto 40 fry at a time Swordtails and guppies can be worse, upto 100 or more
