Firemouths

Jewels are not well suited for a tank with firemouth in my experience.The firemouth were just to timid in comparison and hide all the time.

I have had sajica,gold mixteco,jade eye,blue jack dempsey,convicts,clown loaches,cat fish,sev,parrot and others along those lines in with my firemouth.
I also had some african at one point,but again,the fm were just to intimidated in my opinion.
None of them ripped at plants...they do move a few pebbles ,but nothing that ruins the looks of the tank.

i have jewels with my firemouths, they are not even interesting in fighting with the fm's they would rather rip eachother apart, and last nite they were really sparring, and now today one is hiding at the top corner of the tank

i have jewels with firemouths,theyre roughly the same size and dont see eachother but i still wouldnt recomend it

fufanu,i recomend(i know its hard)to try and get 2 females to 1 male and to cut down on aggresion.maybe theyre 2 males fighting over a female?

Wow, you guys have been talking a lot on a thread I created. lol.. thanks to the many helpings of help. I have my list of fish now. And perhaps in a far far time from now when my tank is done cycling I will be able to have fish. :

dwarf dude: i only have the two, how can i sex them? and also they have been fine ever since babys, just now that they are like 3 inches... they deciced one night they were gonna lip lock but maybe its a breeding thing they are sorta rubbing... LIKE I NEED JEWEL FRY but on a serious note how do u sex them?
